The Michael Kors brand was founded in 1981. It was initially sold only in Bergdorf Goodman and Saks. The success was immediate. His classic and classy style is appreciated by women of all ages. After studying at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, Michael Kors began as a fashion assistant in the famous Lothar company based in New York. He was 19 years old. The press quickly fell in love with him. Seduced by his talent, many people encouraged him to create his own brand. In 1981, Michael Kors started creating on his own. The Michael Kors collections now include clothes for men and women, swimwear, sportswear, fragrances, eyewear and more. He was also the artistic director of the MK house from 1997 to 2002.
